Curriculum

Semester 1: Practical Arts (Immersion)
Embark on an extraordinary journey at AIHM, where your first semester unfolds in ways beyond your imagination, diving headfirst into the dynamic world of hospitality. The preparatory semester, hosted at our Bangkok Campus, is meticulously crafted to offer a comprehensive 6-month hands-on training experience. This programme covers every facet of hotel and restaurant operations, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of the industry. You'll learn from expert professionals, each boasting an industry-acclaimed background, who are dedicated to nurturing your potential and guiding you towards excellence in hospitality.
Semester 2: Internship
Enter a professional internship placement designed to embed and develop the knowledge and skills gained in Semester 1.
Semester 3: Hospitality Management 1
Gaining deeper insights into industry standards and practices. They engage in the 'Integrated Hospitality Project', which combines various elements of hospitality management for a comprehensive learning experience. The course 'Managing Diversity in a Global Workplace' focuses on inclusive and culturally sensitive workforce management. 'Marketing for the Hospitality Industry' teaches targeted marketing strategies specific to this sector. In 'Hospitality Financial Accounting', students learn about fiscal management tailored to hospitality. 'Academic Communications' enhances their communication skills, essential for the industry. 'Fundamentals of Data Analysis and Visualisation' provides crucial data interpretation skills, and 'Principles of Sustainability and Innovation' introduces eco-friendly practices and innovative approaches in hospitality.
Semester 4: Hospitality Management 2
Students will deepen their understanding in a variety of crucial areas. They will explore the intricacies of Food and Beverage Management, focusing on operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The course also delves into Hospitality Managerial Accounting, where students learn advanced financial management techniques specific to the hospitality sector. Key leadership skills are honed in Leading Teams to Success, preparing students to effectively guide hospitality teams. Digital Marketing and Sales introduces modern marketing strategies and sales techniques essential in today’s digital world. Rooms Inventory and Control Management focuses on optimal room occupancy and revenue management. In Hospitality Facilities Management, students gain insights into the maintenance and sustainable operation of hospitality facilities. Finally, the course also includes Fundamentals of Economics, providing a foundational understanding of economic principles as they apply to the hospitality industry.
Semester 5: Internship
This internship offers you the possibility to take on greater responsibilities and apply the administrative and management concepts you have learned in class to real world hospitality projects, teams and departments. Instead of the Management in Practice you can choose to be an intern in your own start-up project, dedicating all of your time and energy to developing your business concept and getting it running with the guidance of faculty members.
Semester 6: Hospitality Management 3
Students dive into advanced aspects of the industry. The course covers 'Hospitality Financial Management', focusing on high-level financial strategies. 'People and Talent Management' teaches effective management of hospitality staff. 'Models for Problem Solving and Decision Making' equips students with skills to tackle industry challenges. 'Customer Relationship Management' focuses on building strong customer connections. 'Revenue and Pricing Management' explores strategies for maximizing revenue. Lastly, 'Data Analytics for Business Optimisation' teaches how to use data analytics for enhancing business efficiency in hospitality.
Semester 7: Specialised Subject
During your final semester, you can choose three elective courses depending on your interest and career aspirations, so you can tailor make your skills sets depending on where you hope to go after graduation.

Admissions Requirements

We look for candidates who are 17.5 years of age at the date of entry and have outstanding academic and linguistic potential, as well as the interpersonal skills needed to succeed in a high-status hospitality management career. Here are a few of the qualities we seek:

  • International outlook and language skills

EDUCATION
Applicants must hold a qualification recognised by Thailand’s Ministry of Education, such as:
• Completion of Grade 12, Year 13 or Matthayom 6 (Thailand)
• Two A-levels or IGCSEs
• An International Baccalaureate (IB) (minimum 24 points)
• A GED diploma (minimum 145 points in all four areas)
With academic transcripts translated into English.

ENGLISH-LANGUAGE QUALIFICATIONS
Non-native speakers, with the exception of those who have spent the last three years in full-time English-language education, will need to submit one of the following:
• TOEFL: 525 (paper) or 70 (iBT) or above
• IELTS: 5.5 average (each section not less than 5) or above
• Cambridge FCE/CAE: B2 First or higher
