The Fundamentals of Carbon Management in Hospitality course focuses on delivering a thorough understanding of carbon management principles and current practice. Participants will acquire the ability to assess, quantify and reduce carbon emissions in their operations, fostering environmentally responsible and cost-effective business practices.



This course aims to equip hotel and hospitality personnel in general as well as accounting, engineering, branding, and CSR team with the fundamental of carbon management. All aspects of your operations can be tapped to reduce carbon emissions.

Module 2: Carbon pricing mechanism

  • Understand the science and impact of climate change on a global and local scale
  • Explore key international agreements and Thailand's specific policies related to climate action (e.g. Draft Thailand's Climate Act and Thailand Taxonomy)
  • Gain insights into how these policies affect the hospitality industry in Thailand
  • Explore different carbon pricing mechanisms e.g. carbon taxes and Emission Trading Schemes (ETS)
  • Analyse the potential impact of carbon pricing on the hospitality industry globally and in Thailand
  • Discuss how your business can prepare for and adapt to carbon pricing implementation

Module 3: Introduction to carbon emission assessment and GHG Reporting Framework

  • Explore the concepts of carbon neutrality and offsetting mechanisms
  • Discover methodologies for assessing carbon emissions
  • Explore prominent international standards for carbon footprinting e.g. the Greenhouse Gas Protocol

Dr. Bordin Vongvitayapirom has a Master’s in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University in the USA and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Kasetsart University. He has experience in Oil and Gas, Renewable Energy and Manufacturing from leading companies and instructor for ESG Risk Management and Sustainability Report and Disclosure for Stock Exchange and listed companies


Dissayanun Pinsuwan, an alumnus of Chulalongkorn University with a degree in Engineering and an MBA from Imperial College London, has over seven years of expertise in the petrochemical sector. He currently specializes as a consultant, concentrating on the development of decarbonization strategies and promoting sustainability.


Thanida Lawseriwanich holds a bachelor's degree in economics with an MSc in Public Policy from Hitotsubashi University in Japan (MEXT Scholarship). She served as a senior analysis at the Bank of Thailand for over 10 years and is curently a consultant on sustainability and sustainable finance.
