Or maybe your corporate job has tasked you with planning a workshop, a small conference or fun staff get-together. Whether you’re excited about creating and hosting an event or the very thought of it turns you into a big ball of nerves, this course will prepare you to win at the event planning game.

Over the course of one weekend, we’ll cover all the key topics you need to understand in order to thrive. We’ll master the essentials of the entire process for planning and executing events. Expects lots of activities, discussions, real-life examples and hands-on learning experiences.
You’ll start by building an introductory foundation in the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions) and events industry before turning to event planning trends and future of the MICE industry. After discovering the past, present and future of event planning, you’ll dive into how to create and manage your very own event. We’ll cover the entire planning process—starting with conceptualising your event, planning for budgeting, outlining the budget process and mastering best practices in financial management.
Learn how to design your event. Discover the initial stages of managing an event. Gain techniques and tips on event marketing and acquire and understanding of the appropriate tools for various kinds of events. Together, we’ll dive into how you can build and manage the right team of people for your event and also cover the important elements of financial management. We all hope that our events unfold perfectly, but a good event planner always has a Plan B. We’ll spend some time talking about planning for event risk and crisis management.
A lot of work goes into every event—before, during an after. In addition to the design and planning stage, we’ll cover on-site operations and running the show. Lastly, we’ll address the post-event follow-up procedures.
By the end of the weekend, you’ll have all the tools and knowledge you need to design and run your own successful event!

Expert
A lifelong learner, passionate undergraduate and graduate degree lecturer, guest speaker and trainer in the business and hospitality industry, Dr. Natasha Doowa has spent the past decade building and sharing her expertise as a lecturer at various universities in Thailand. Her specialisations include a variety of topics in business management, event management and business communication.
A firm believer in enhancing twenty-first century skills in the classroom, she assists individuals in achieving their career goals—training others to master their public speaking, business English skills, develop their CVs and prepare for successful job interviews. Dr. Natasha is a frequent guest lecturer at the Asian Institute of Technology, where she teaches “Master Presentation Skills: A Hands-on Workshop” and “Business English Skills.”
With a particular interest and wealth of experience in event planning and finding sponsorship for events, Dr. Natasha has organised a variety small to large scale events, including conferences, exhibitions and workshops. She also loves sharing her passion for and knowledge of event planning, leveraging contemporary teaching techniques to promote a stimulating learning atmosphere.
