Emotional Intelligence

Do you feel like you don’t have the commanding presence to be a leader? You’re intelligent, knowledgeable and good at your job, but you don’t have what it takes to be “the boss”. If this sounds like you, you’re probably suffering from toxic leadership models. Toss off those limiting beliefs and learn how effective leaders use emotional intelligence to inspire and navigate tough situations.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Whether you want to thrive in your current job role, find new success in moving up the career ladder, or simply cultivate a happier and more stress-free life, the techniques of Emotional Intelligence provide a powerful way to shape the world around you. Tap into your skills of Emotional Intelligence in this one-day course introducing you to the most important EI components and techniques.

hat’s swimming around in people’s brains? Currents of emotion. Drives. Fears. Aspirations. Wants. Needs. First and foremost, we’re human beings. We’re not components in a machine. We act based on emotions, relationships and beliefs—true and untrue.

When you learn to recognise what’s going on beneath the surface of interactions, you’re able to dive into these currents, to work with them, to influence them, to build upon them. A whole new way of interacting and leading opens up to you.

Begin your journey of discovery by encountering the five components of Emotional Intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills. You’ll start with learning how to identify and manage your emotions. Then, expand this by looking at how you can apply the same principles to influence others.

Contrary to what you may think, being a leader isn’t just about being tough and commanding. There are many ways to be a leader, and the hard academic research into leadership proves that most high-achieving leaders are actually masters of ‘soft skills’ such as empathy and relationship building. They understand people. They’ve discovered that people skills rather than technical abilities are the biggest factors in creating results. They’ve learned to see the ‘invisible’ factors that influence themselves and others. Most importantly, they’ve built a toolbox of techniques to work with these factors.

AIHM Expert Alison Stanworth will guide you developing your own mastery of the fundamental EI techniques. In just one-day, you’ll acquire fundamental tools for applying the power of Emotional Intelligence. Build environments where people feel happy, motivated and inspired. Navigate tricky situations with newfound ease. Boost your career by boosting your EQ.
